UK – Investment Solutions, which entered the UK multi-management market last week, has hired former Mercer investment consultant Richard Dinham.

The firm said it has appointed Dinham as senior investment manager. He is a former vice president in investment consulting at J P Morgan, which he joined in 2001. Before that he was an investment consultant at Mercer.

It said that Dinham, a specialist in investment performance measurement, asset liability modelling and risk management, would “play a central role in building Investment Solutions' presence in the UK pensions market”.

South Africa’s Investment Solutions, which is of the same group as consulting firm Lane Clark & Peacock, launched a multi-manager platform in the UK last week. The service is aimed at firms which offer both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes.

Investment Solutions is part of Johannesburg-based financial services group Alexander Forbes, which also includes UK-based Lane Clark & Peacock.

Justin Taurog, global business development director, said: “Richard is a seasoned investment professional whose experience will be invaluable in building our UK business.”

Investment Solutions has more than 4.5 billion pounds (6.9 billion euros) under management.
