UK – Mark Parry, formerly of PIMCO Europe, has joined Schroder Investment Management.

Parry, who was senior vice president and head of UK fixed income at PIMCO Europe, has been appointed by Schroders to manage index-linked portfolios. Mike Amey of Insight Investments replaced Parry at PIMCO in July.

Jamie Stuttard also joins Schroder IM where he will be responsible for institutional corporate bond portfolios. He was formerly vice president at PIMCO where he specialised in sterling corporate bonds. His duties will now be spread across PIMCO's UK fixed income team.

The two new recruits will be based in London, and will report to Jeremy Cave, who has been promoted to head of UK fixed income. Cave replaces Andrew Wickham who is leaving to join Insight Investments.

Commenting on Schroders’ push in the sterling bond arena, Bob Michele, global head of fixed income, said the appointments “represent a significant upgrade to the already strong sterling bond products”.

As of June 30 2003, Schroder Investment Management has 20 billion pounds in total fixed income assets, of which 10.8 billion pounds is invested in UK fixed income.
