GLOBAL - Mercer, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Heptagon Capital, JO Hambro Investment Management, BlackRock, Amundi Asset Management

Mercer - Simon Thompson has been hired at the consultancy in London as a principal and senior international consultant, specialising in international mobility consulting. He joins three other new recruits in the international consulting group - Anna Bochko, Anusha Vamadeva and Mark Harris. Thompson and Harris join from International SOS, where they served as corporate development director for northern Europe and development director for the EEU, respectively. Bochko arrives from Aon, while Vamadeva joins from HSBC, where she was a consultant. 
 
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) - The investment manager has appointed Ian Clifton to the newly created role of commercial director within its fixed income team. Based in the company's London office, Clifton will report to Mark Connolly, director of fixed income, and be responsible for driving commercial activity for SWIP's fixed income business. He joins from Mercer, where he was a senior investment consultant. 

Heptagon Capital - The asset manager set up in 2005 by former Morgan Stanley executives has made two senior hires. Arnaud Gandon will become chief investment officer of the investment management division, while Natalia Greslikova will head up institutional sales for Austria, the Benelux countries, Germany and Switzerland. Gandon joined in August from Union Bancaire Privée in London. Greslikova spent six years as a managing director of institutional sales at Gottex Fund Management, where she was responsible for covering European clients.

JO Hambro Investment Management - The specialist investment management house has appointed Jim Leng and Sir Brian Williamson to its board as non-executive directors. Both will work with JOHIM's management team and advise on business strategy and corporate governance. Leng is currently the European chairman at AEA, a US-based private equity partnership, while Sir Williamson, who spent 12 years as a director at the FSA, is a non-executive director at HSBC.

BlackRock - Ian Winship has joined the sterling fundamental fixed income team at BlackRock in London as a senior portfolio manager, reporting to Paul Shuttleworth, head of sterling fixed income. Winship joins from Brevan Howard, where he was head of absolute return product. Before then, he spent 11 years at Aberdeen Asset Management as head of global rates. At BlackRock, he will focus on sterling rates and developing the business in the UK.

Amundi Asset Management - Industry veteran Brian Scott is set to lead Amundi Asset Management's operations in Australia and New Zealand. Scott, who has more than 27 years' experience in the investment, superannuation and insurance industry, joins from Schroder Investment Management, where he was head of sales. Before then, he served as head of institutional sales and head of consultant relations at State Street Global Advisors.
