GLOBAL - Mercer, AXA Rosenberg, Varma, EFT Securities, Corio, SEB Asset Management

Mercer - The consultancy has recruited three consultants as part of the expansion of its international consulting team in Europe. Axel Zoma and Franck Chéron have both been appointed principals in Mercer's Paris office, while Graham Pearce has rejoined in Munich as a partner and leader of the company's international consulting team in central Europe, covering Germany, Switzerland and Austria. All three have rejoined after stints with Towers Watson and KPMG.

AXA Rosenberg - Jeremy Baskin has been appointed as chief executive of AXA Rosenberg. He will start in his new position on 1 January 2011, reporting to Dominique Carrel-Billiard, chief executive at AXA Investment Managers. Baskin succeeds Stéphane Prunet, who will remain at AXA IM, assuming new responsibilities as an adviser to Carrel-Billiard. Baskin was previously head of the active equities division of the Northern Trust Company, where he worked for more than 20 years.

Varma - The supervisory board at the mutual pension insurance company has appointed Veli-Matti Töyrylä, branch manager at Nordea Bank Finland, as a board member, while Liisa Leino, chairman of the board at Leinovalu, has been named a deputy board member. Of the members whose terms have expired, Johanna Ikäheimo, chairman of the board at Lappset Group; Ole Johansson, president and chief executive at Wärtsilä Corporation; and Sakari Tamminen, president and chief executive at Rautaruukki Corporation, will continue on the board.

ETF Securities (ETFS) - Kris Walesby has joined ETF Securities Marketing as its European head of capital markets. He will be responsible for managing relationships with the market maker community, with the aim of improving the liquidity of ETFS products. Walesby joins from iShares, where he was a capital markets business development officer.

Corio - John van Haaren, chief executive of Corio's business in the Netherlands, has reached an agreement with the listed real estate company to end his employment contract. Corio said this was due to differences in opinion regarding the strategy of Corio Nederland. The company will begin looking for a successor.

SEB Asset Management - Christian Hanke has joined SEB's sales team in Frankfurt as head of institutional sales for real estate. He joins from Aberdeen Asset Management Deutschland AG. Before then, he worked for AMB Generali Asset Managers, DEGI and Aberdeen Asset Management.
