UK – Mehraj Mattoo has been appointed as a director in the Alternative Investments Group (AIG) at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, the investment banking arm of Dresdner Bank, a hire that the group says reflects the speed in growth of demand for fund derivatives.

In the last three months Dresdner has pulled on board five new members to the AIG team, including Giulio Corrado and Andrew Panteli, both from BNP Paribas and Edward hands, formerly of Gartmore Fund Managers.

Matoo, who will join in mid-April, is expected to play a key role in developing the fund derivative business and work mainly with European fund of fund groups and institutional investors.
He joins from BNP Paribas, where he was co-head of the fund derivatives group.
