GERMANY – Denver-based asset manager Janus has appointed Thomas Fleck as regional director for German-speaking Europe.

Based in London, Fleck will be responsible for sales in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.

Fleck, a German national, joins Janus in September from German mutual fund company AdvisorTech where he has been head of sales for Europe for the last two years.

Prior to that, he spent three years at Schroders as head of sales and marketing for its mutual fund business in Germany and Austria. Fleck began his career in marketing in the financial sector in 1989 with Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.

The main focus of Janus’s activity in German speaking Europe is the distribution of its 14 Dublin-domiciled World UCITS funds.

Says Richard Garland, chief executive of Janus International: “Thomas’s skills in both the institutional and retail market, plus his wide range of contacts across German-speaking Europe make him eminently suited to this position.”

Janus currently has $145bn (€145bn) in assets under management worldwide.
