MSCI made changes to its Standard and Provisional index series following its regular May quarterly rebalancing. The review included the second and final phase of implementation of MSCI’s ‘Enhanced Methodology’ – the change to account for free-float.
The pro forma constituents are listed at www.msci.com/stdindex.
Effective from May 31, 18 securities will be added to the standard index series. These bring the representation of their respective industry group closer to MSCI’s target of 85% of free-float adjusted market.
MSCI said its review of the free-float for all consitutuents of the pro forma Standard ACWI Free Index has resulted in changes in Foreign Inclusion Factors (FIFs) for 597 securities in 48 countries. FIFs adjust the market capitalisation of securities for free float available to foreign investors.
