Morgan Stanley Capital International says it has licensed several derivatives and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on its indices.
The Australian Derivatives Exchange launched the MSCI Aussie futures contract in January based on the MSCI Australia Index, followed by the MSCI Aussie options contract in February.
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has announced plans to launch 13 European ETFs based on MSCI indices, says MSCI. The ETFs are to be listed on Euronext, the stock and futures exchange formed last year from the merger of the Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris exchanges.
SSgA also plans to introduce futures based on the MSCI China Free Index, which should begin trading on the Hong Kong Futures Exchange in May, MSCI says.
