ITALY – Ratings company and mutual fund information provider, Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has launched its Italian database, covering 1,170 Italian mutual funds and more than 1,580 foreign funds registered for sale in Italy.

The new database is S&P’s 38th, and complements its existing German, French, UK, Swiss, Dutch, Portuguese and Scandinavian databases across Europe. Between them the European databases now cover 26,000 funds.

The databases allow peer group and sector comparisons between funds, including 20 main sectors, 264 specialist and 668 global sectors. Sector classifications are based on S&P’s own methodology.

Features of the S&P databases include:

•monthly updated assets under management
•management and sales fees information
•fund companies’ contact details.
