New LPFA investment head leaves after five weeks

UK - Suzanne Ross left her role as investment director at the £3.4bn (€5bn) London Pensions Fund Authority "for personal reasons" - just five weeks after joining.

"There were personal circumstances she could not have foreseen when she joined us. It was a surprise for us all," an LPFA spokesman told IPE but could not comment further on the nature of the circumstances.

Suzanne had joined the LPFA after working for IBM for 11 years where her latest position was investment manager at the IBM Pension Fund.

"Suzanne, who was only in post for five weeks, had already began to make a difference in the leadership of the LPFA's investment strategies and she was well liked by staff," a press release stated.

"It is with regret that I have had to accept Suzanne's resignation," says chief executive Mike Taylor, "but having explained her situation to me, I completely understand and I would like to wish her all the best for the future."

He added: "We will now immediately begin the search for a high level replacement and in the meantime I shall oversee the management of the Authority's investment strategy along with our very able Investment Team."
