The London-based investment fund manager, New Star International is launching – pending approval by the Central Bank of Ireland – six new long-only equities funds. The new funds are sub-funds of the proposed Dublin-based, open-ended investment company (OEIC).
Philip Goldsmith, managing director of New Star International, believes it will be of interest to institutional investors offshore as well as the UK, given that the fund has a global strategy. “We really have the ability to offer people global equity coverage and that I think is essential. Our UK range is very much aimed at UK or European funds and I think that people will be very interested in investing in our entire range to get global coverage”.
The six funds – Asian Opportunities, European Growth, Global Emerging Markets, Japan Recovery, UK Dynamic and US Opportunities – will be distributed through New Star’s global distribution network for a minimum investment of $10,000 in the whole umbrella.
