PensPlan enters national market

PensPlan, the pension services provider of the semi-autonomous Trentino Alto Adige region in northern Italy, is entering the national market with the launch of sister company PensPlan Services.
Through PensPlan Services, PensPlan Group will be able to provide administration, accounting, advisory and financial services to pension funds in the whole country, head of marketing Thomas Walder told IPE.
Fopadiva, the pension fund for the employees of Valle d’Aosta, another semi-autonomous region, has already outsourced part of its administration and accounting services to the new company via Servizi Previdenziali Valle d’Aosta Spa.
Luca Merighi, a manager at Servizi Previdenziali, which liaises with
PensPlan, says the sub-outsource deal with PensPlan had been on the cards as soon as Fopadiva was awarded the mandate.
Fopadiva, he explained, received authorisation from regulator Covip in July 2003 and has a potential membership of 35,000.
Martha Stocker, deputy president of the Trentino Alto Adige region and responsible for pensions services, says that about 80,000 have already joined the regional pension fund.
“We are very proud of this project, which could not have come into
being if the region had not made significant financial means available,”
she says.
“With the launch of PensPlan Services, the investment of the region is set to grow; our services, which will continue to come free for the locals [of the Trentino Alto Adige_region] will become available on the national market.”
Fulvio Rigotti, of Delta Dator, a PensPlan Services shareholder, says: “PensPlan is a leader in Italy when it comes to quality of services. So, why should it limit its services to local pension funds? PensPlan Services represents an example of a public-private partnership.”
