Charles Moussier at M&G Investments

M&G Investments – Charles Moussier has been hired as European head of insurance solutions, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to serving institutional clients across Europe. Based in Paris, Moussier will report to Russell Lee, global head of insurance solutions, and will lead M&G’s efforts to deepen relationships with European insurers.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Moussier was head of insurance client solutions EMEA at Invesco for the past six years.

At M&G he will be responsible for delivering investment solutions to European insurers, through funds, mandates or co-investments, and for building strategic partnerships to co-develop life and retirement insurance solutions. He brings more than 20 years of experience in institutional advisory, derivatives structuring, and public and private asset distribution and was most recently working at Invesco as Head of Insurance Solutions for EMEA where he led insurance distribution across 14 countries.

As insurers face uncertain environments and complex regulations, M&G’s integrated insurance and asset management model allows it to offer tailored solutions to meet their long-term savings and capital needs. Using its private markets and fixed income investment capabilities, M&G is well positioned to deliver tailored, capital-efficient solutions aligned with long-term objectives and regulatory requirements.

As part of its broader institutional growth strategy, M&G also announced the appointment of Enguerrand Fougerat as institutional sales director in the French team, reporting to Kelly Hebert, country head for France and BeLux. He will focus on developing relationships with French institutional clients and promoting M&G’s full range of investment capabilities. Previously, he was an institutional sales manager at Candriam, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Annika Ekman at Ilmarinen

Annika Ekman at Ilmarinen

Ilmarinen – Annika Ekman has been appointed as the new chief investment officer of Finnish mutual pensions insurance company Ilmarinen. She replaces Mikko Mursula, who is moving up to the role of chief executive officer at the beginning of September.

Ekman has worked at the Helsinki-based pension provider since 2004, most recently as head of equities – a position she has held since 2015. Before coming to Ilmarinen, she worked at Nordea and Goldman Sachs.

Mursula said Ekman’s appointment was based on her “versatile expertise and long-standing experience in various areas of investment operations”.

He said the pension reform set to come into effect in Finland next year, which would strengthen the system’s funding, also required careful preparation.

“The reform will give us the opportunity to increase equity risk and diversify the portfolio more broadly, which will support long-term returns,” he added.

Nordkinn Asset Management – The fixed income hedge fund has expanded its investment team with the appointments of Arian Kalantari and Lars Mouland as portfolio managers, while Paulus Ingram, formerly head of hedge fund investments at Dutch pension investor APG, has come on board as a senior adviser.

Prior to joining Nordkinn, Kalantari was fixed income portfolio manager at Swedish pension fund AP1 and Swedish fund manager Öhman Fonder. Mouland spent more than 15 years as a fixed-income macro portfolio manager at KLP and Storebrand, before serving as chief rates strategist at Nordea for the past seven years.
