Barnett Waddingham - Adrian Waddingham, founding partner and former senior partner, has been made a CBE in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours for services to the actuarial and pensions professions. Waddingham qualified as an actuary in 1975. He is the former chairman of Association of Consulting Actuaries, the International Association of Consulting Actuaries, the Association of Pensioner Trustees and Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries in the City of London.

MN - Robert Scammell has been appointed fund manager for the liability-matching portfolios of UK clients. He joins from BGI, where he was an LDI portfolio manager for institutional clients for almost four years. He has also spent seven years at the Bank of England, where he held various roles, including fixed income portfolio manager and dealer. Separately, MN has promoted Alastair Baillie Strong to head of investment strategy UK, while Gwion Moore will be leaving the company, reportedly to join Russell Investments.

State Street Corporation - Valerie Haertel has been appointed senior vice-president of investor relations, managing relationships with shareholders and analysts. Haertel joins from Medco Health Solutions, where she served as vice-president of investor relations. Before then, she held various senior-level investor relations and management positions at Alliance Bernstein, RCN Corporation and NASDAQ.

Credit Suisse - Tove Bångstad joins as head of asset management for the Nordic region from Aviva Investors, where she was a managing director with a focus on institutional clients and large platforms. Before then, she spent seven years at SEB Wealth Management, where she covered mutual funds and institutional clients in the Nordic region.

Man Group - Finance director Kevin Hayes is to leave the company to "pursue other professional and personal interests". Jonathan Sorrell, currently head of strategy and corporate finance, is taking over as finance director with immediate effect. Sorrell joined Man in August 2011. He spent more than a decade at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in the investment management, securities and investment banking divisions.

Buck Consultants - Kevin LeGrand is to assume a newly created role as principal and head of pensions policy. The creation of this role follows LeGrand's two-year term as president of the Society of Pension Consultants. He continues to sit on the Council of the Society of Pension Consultants. LeGrand has led Buck's Knowledge and Research Centre in the UK for the past 26 years.

Northern Trust - Mark Gossett has been appointed co-head of global foreign exchange. Gossett, an executive vice-president with 29 years at Northern Trust, has served in a variety of senior roles, including chief risk officer and chief operating officer for Northern Trust Global Investments. As part of the transition, he will relocate from Chicago to London.

Sciens Fund of Funds Management Holdings - Tim Wilkinson has been appointed president, reporting Sciens Fund of Funds chief executive Stavros Siokos. Before joining Sciens, Wilkinson was managing director at Russell Investments, with responsibility for business development and distribution across EMEA. Before then, he spent 15 years with Citigroup Global Markets.

Max.xs Financial Services - Christian Kratochwil joins as head of institutional sales, charged with expanding the company's client base. Kratochwil has more than a decade of experience in the industry, previously working at IO Capital Partners, where he oversaw portfolio and product development, and DBM Deutsche Börsenmakler.

Mirabaud - Daniel Tubbs is to manage a long-only UCITS fund focusing on emerging market equities, which will be set up in Luxembourg. He joins from BlackRock, where he was co-head of the global emerging markets team.
