GLOBAL - Santander UK, Pensions Policy Institute, Man Group, First State Investments, UBS Global Asset Management, SWIP, Travers Smith LLP, RBC Dexia Investor Services

Santander UK - Antony Barker, director at JLT Pension Capital Strategies, is to leave the company to take on a new role at Santander, where he will advise the board ahead of the IPO planned for 2014 on the derisking and decommissioning of £8bn (€10bn) of assets and liabilities that have accrued from various acquisitions. Barker was the former global head of pension advisory at BNP Paribas and head of investment services at Deloitte. He trained as an actuary with Hewitt, Bacon & Woodrow and Mercer.

Pensions Policy Institute - Robert Branagh, managing director of administration at RPMI, has been appointed governor of the PPI. The role comes in addition to his recent appointment as a member of the NAPF's Retirement Provision Council, along with his role as a non-executive director of the Civil Service Pension Scheme Management Board.

Man Group - Judy Saunders, former chief investment officer at the West Midlands Pension Fund, has joined Man Group as a senior adviser. She is to serve as a consultant to the alternative fund manager's UK institutional team. The West Midlands' new director Geik Drever has taken over Saunders' responsibilities as CIO and will oversee the fund's investment strategy.

First State Investments - Will Oulton has been appointed global head of responsible investment. He has more than 20 years' experience in the industry and joins from Mercer Investments London, where he was the head of responsible investment for the EMEA. He is also the vice-president of the European Sustainable Investment Forum and a director at the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Forum. 

UBS Global Asset Management - Malcom Gordon has been appointed head of UK institutional client relationship management. He joined in June from Hermes Fund Managers, where he was head of client relations. Before then, he worked for F&C Asset Management.

SWIP - Derke McKay has been appointed head of finance. He had been with Lloyds Banking Group for 15 years and was previously head of management reporting and planning for the insurance division. Before then, he held a number of senior roles within insurance finance.

Travers Smith LLP - Two senior pension lawyers - Susie Daykin and Daniel Gerring - have been promoted to the partnership. Travers Smith is a pensions law firm, advising the trustees and employers of some of the UK's largest pension funds.

RBC Dexia Investor Services - Simon Hirtenstein has been appointed head of portfolio solutions within the market products and services team. Hirtenstein will support enterprise custody sales, product pricing, product rollouts and enhancements.
