NETHERLANDS – The 48 billion-euro Dutch healthcare pension fund PGGM has hired Frans Prins as its public affairs director.

Prins takes over from Nico Wolfs, who is retiring. Prins was previously director of the Pensioenfonds Metaal en Techniek. He has been succeeded there by Bert van de Belt, former executive board president at Achmea.

Prins is a former director the Dutch Association of Industry-wide Pension Funds, the Vereniging van Bedrijfstakpensioenfondsen, or VB.

PGGM last week spent 30 million euros to hedge its pension commitments against inflation in a deal with IEF Capital.
