PMI appoints three new board members

UK – The Pensions Management Institute (PMI), the London-based independent organisation that promotes professional standards in pension scheme management and consultancy, has appointed three new members, Philippa James, Philip Read and Robert Richardson, to its management board.

James has been a full-time pensions lawyer at Mayer, Brown Rowe & Maw for the last fourteen years. She has particular experience in establishing schemes, scheme mergers and demergers, and advising on pensions issues during takeovers and acquisitions.

Read has been a fellow at the institute of actuaries since 1975 and joined Johannesburg-based consultancy firm, JA Carson and Partners in 1978. He joined Towers Perrin in the UK In 1986, where he became a partner in 1990. He left Towers Perrin in 1993 to become pensions manager at GEC, the same year he was elected fellow of the PMI.

Richardson has been an associate at Hewitt, Bacon & Woodrow since 1994, having joined the company in 1985 to help build its third party administration business. He currently focuses on client account management and support in addition to his role as a consultant.
