**Punter Southall promotes two to principal positions**
UK – Consulting actuaries firm, Punter Southall (PS), has promoted Gail Chorley and James Saunders to the position of principal, bringing the number of principals at the company to 23.
Chorley has been at PS for six years acting as pension fund administrator, whilst Saunders joined PS in 1997 to focus on the pensions aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

**SSgA takes on two new fixed income managers in London**
UK – State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has appointed two new portfolio managers to its London based global fixed income team.
Joseph Moody joins as senior investment manager, responsible for a mix of country and asset class coverage within global bond markets. He was previously with Foreign & Colonial, where he was assistant director since 1994.
Kevin Anderson joins as an investment manager with similar responsibilities to Moody. He joins from Schroder Investment Management, where he spent three years as a quantitative analyst to the fixed income team.

**Friends Ivory & Sime appoint Jones to private equity**
UK – Friends Ivory & Sime Private Equity has appointed Liz Jones as assistant director, new investments.
Jones was previously at Barclays Bank, which she joined in 1995 as part of its management development programme in the retail and corporate markets. She was associate director at Barclays Ventures for the last four years.

**Gissins gets technical**
UK – Employee benefits consultancy, Gissings, has appointed Alec Ure as senior adviser to its technical team.
Ure, with more than twenty years pensions experience, joins from Bacon & Woodrow, where he was senior consultant in their legal department, advising clients on a range of pensions and taxation issues.

** State Street appoints new head of corporate marketing**
US – Boston based State Street Corporation has appointed Darla Hastings as senior vice president and corporate head of marketing.
Hastings, with more than 20 years management and strategic marketing experience, will report to John Towers, vice chairman and chief administrative officer. She joins from INCommunication, where she was president and chief executive.

**Ross to manage Norwich Union new media relations**
UK – Norwich Union has appointed David Ross as new media relations’ manager to its Norwich based press office.
Ross will be responsible for raising the profile of Norwich Union’s internet site and has previously worked as PR manager for both Guardian Royal Exchange and Axa Insurance.

**Drivers Jonas appoints new managing partner**
UK – London based property consultants, Drivers Jonas (DJ), has appointed Nick Shepherd as new managing partner from December.
Shepherd, currently head of DJ’s City investment team, will replace Rory Joyce, whose three year term as managing partner has ended.

**Threadneedle expands Latin America team**
UK – Threadneedle Investments has appointed Jules Mort as fund manager to its Latin America team in London.
Mort has extensive experience as an emerging market fund manager and joins from Baillie Gifford where he managed Latin American funds within the emerging markets department.
