EUROPE – Ratings agency Standard and Poor’s has appointed Jason Feldmayer as director of European index operations, based in London.

The appointment marks the completion of S&P’s internal structure for its European index division, comprising index production, marketing and sales, and client relationship management. Feldmayer will be the new head of index operations, market development remains headed up by Christopher O’Brien in Paris, and Susan Fagg is responsible for client relationship management.

Feldmayer was previously director of S&P’s index business in Australia, prior to which he was a senior quantitative analyst with the Australian Stock Exchange.

Eudald Canadell, S&P’s European head, said: “S&P has fully positioned itself to develop its index product offering and to explore new business opportunities across Europe, leveraging off the increasing popularity of the S&P Europe 350 index and its in-house custom index capabilities.”

Feldmayer’s appointment also coincides with the preparation for the launch of the Italian S&P/MIB index with Borsa Italiana.
