UK - State Street Corp. has named Peter Baker to head of its London-based pension and collective investment servicing business.

The bank said Baker - previously head of State Street’s investment servicing business in Australia - would report to Jeff Conway, head of its investor services business in the UK and northern Europe.

Baker would manage “all aspects of State Street’s London-based services for collective schemes and pension funds including risk and compliance, trustee services, fund administration and accounting”.

He would manage the integration and implementation of major contracts including State Street’s 34 billion-dollar investment operations brief from Investec Asset Management.

“Baker will also oversee senior level relationships with clients and prospects to ensure that State Street continues to deliver excellence to its key constituents,” the bank said in a statement.

“Having worked with Peter in Australia, I have first hand knowledge of his deep understanding of the investment servicing business and his talent for client relationship management”, Conway said.

“He will play a key role on our London team as we continue to forge multi-product and multi-geographic relationships with our clients.”
