SWEDEN – The Swedish government has made new board appointments at AP2 and AP3, two of the six national buffer funds.

Anders Jansson has joined Andra AP-fonden while Kari Lotsberg and Lars Otterbeck have joined sister fund Tredje AP-fonden.

Jansson, who succeeds Kurth Augustson, will retain his role as president and chief executive of recycling company Stena Metall.

Otterbeck, former president at occupational pension company Alecta, takes over from AP3 vice chairman Rolf Andersson.

Spokeswoman Christina Kusoffsky Hillesoy did not elaborate on Andersson’s next move. Otterbeck left Alecta last year, where he was replaced by Tomas Nicolin – the former head of AP3.

Lotsberg, previously a state secretary at the finance ministry, takes over from Christina Liffner. “She is a board member in several of company boards in Sweden and abroad,” said Kusoffsky Hillesoy.

The six buffer funds are expected to meet local government and financial markets minister Sven-Erik Österberg this month to discuss a governmental report on their structure and costs.
