UK‘s pensions department names head of strategy

UK – The Department of Work and Pensions has named Phil Wynn Owen as head of strategy and pensions client group director.

He will have a partly revised set of responsibilities and replace Paul Gray, who has moved to the UK’s Revenue and Customs department, the DWP said in a statement.

Wynn Owen will report to Sir Richard Mottram, the DWP’s permanent secretary and be responsible department-wide strategy and strategic policy development of the government’s pensions policy.

He is currently the director responsible for the financial sector in the Treasury department and was previously in the Cabinet Office.

The DWP added the appointment has been approved by the Prime Minister with the agreement of pensions minister Alan Johnson.
