UK- Invesco Asset Management, part of the US group Amvescap, has announced the retirement of its vice chairman Tristan Hillgarth at the end of the month.

Hillgarth spent twelve years with the group during which he held numerous senior positions including chief executive for Invesco Europe and chief investment officer and deputy CEO of Invesco Global.

Michael Benson, chief executive officer of Invesco Global and vice chairman of Amvescap, praised Hillgarth for his role in the acquisition and integration of GT and Perpetual, moves that increased the group’s UK presence.

Since the GT/Perpetual deal last year, Hillgarth stepped down from an active management role and took more of an ambassadorial role. Explaining his decision to retire, he said, simply, it was “time to do something different.”
