SPAIN – Consultant Watson Wyatt has poached Begoña Benito from rival William M. Mercer to head up its Spanish employee benefits practice.

Benito was formerly retirement practice leader at Mercer’s, a position she held for seven years.
Prior to Mercer she spent 11 years at consultant Gil & Carvajal (now Aon Gil & Carvajal) with responsibility for the company’s life insurance and pension practice.

“ I am delighted that Begoña has decided to join us. She brings a wealth of experience working with both Spanish and international companies on complex employee benefits and insurance issues,” says Anfonso Jiminez, managing consultant of Watson Wyatt, Spain.

Benito is also a fellow of the Spanish Institute of Actuaries.
