Watson Wyatt Heissmann - Boy-Jürgen Andresen (63, pictured above, right), chairman of the German consulting company, is retiring at the end of April. He will remain the honorary chairmain of the German pension fund association Aba. Rainer Schmidt has been appointed to succeed Andresen.

Aegon - Jos Streppel (pictured, right) will step down as chief financial officer and member of the executive board. The supervisory board of Aegon said it will propose Jan Nooitgedagt, chairman of the Board of the Dutch and Belgian firms of Ernst & Young, to succeed Streppel at Aegon's annual general meeting of shareholders on 22 April.

Grant & Eisenhofer  - Richard Schiffrin, former named partner at Schiffrin Barroway Topaz & Kessler, has moved to rival firm Grant & Eisenhofer.

General Motors Asset Management - Tony Kao has been promoted to replace Nancy Everett as chief investment officer at GMAM, which among other things manages General Motors' pension funds. Everett will remain chief executive officer.

BNY Mellon Asset Management - Pauline Stuart, executive director of the institutional business in London has left the firm.

RBC Royal Bank - Jason Storsley was appointed president and chief executive of RBC Direct Investing, effective 1 February. Most recently, Storsley led the global institutional management team and was head of global equity research for RBC Asset Management.

Henderson - The currency team consisting of Bob Arends, head of currency management, Dennis van den Bosch, senior portfolio manager, Bernd Kraan, senior portfolio manager, Brieuc de Hults, portfolio manager and Jill Rootsaert, portfolio manager, have all joined from the investment banking arm of Fortis.

Swisscanto - Christopher Preston, general director of Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV), has stepped down as president of board of directors of Swisscanto Holding. Paul Nyffeler, vice president, will take over for the time being.

Gartmore - Nic Jones, the former head of Gartmore's financial institutions group, has joined HSBC Asset Management in London.

Universal Investment - Jörg Kaden and Stefan Krapf, both previously at Service-KAG, have joined the company's insourcing team in Frankfurt.

Close Brothers Asset Management - Robert Imbert has joined as director of intermediary sales, and David Muncaster has been appointed as director of intermediary relationship management. Both have arrived from UBS Wealth Management.

Northern Trust - Citibank's Chris Blakey will head up the product management fund administration across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. It is a newly-created role.

Aon Global UK - Fiona Davies, previously at Willis in London, has been appointed as director to drive business growth and relationship management with multinationals.

Standard Life Capital Partners - Whit Matthews has joined the private equity team in Boston as an investment manager. He previously worked for the office of investments, University of Pennsylvania.

Mercer - Kimberly Plummer has joined Mercer investment consulting from Wellington Management Company to lead the US implemented consulting business.

West LB - Dustin Neuneyer has left the German non-governmental organisation Germanwatch to join the sustainable management team at West LB bank in Düsseldorf.

Bank for International Settlements - Guillermo Ortiz, governor of the Bank of Mexico has been elected as the new chairman of BIS, succeeding Jean-Pierre Roth, the chairman of the Swiss National Bank (SNB).
