GLOBAL - Dexia, Blackrock, NTGI, Calpers, Cardano, KPMG, Ruffer, Hermes, Pioneer Investments, Law Debenture, Russell Investments.

Dexia Asset Management - Hugo Lasat, chief executive of the asset management arm of the Belgian-French bank, has stepped down. He had already left his post as chairman of the management board of Dexia Asset Management to take up his old role of CEO.

Blackrock - Several members of the management team have been promoted following Barbara Novick's move into the role of senior adviser. Rob Fairbairn will now become head of the account management group, Rick Kushel is moving to London to become vice chairman and head of international business and Andrew Dyson has been promoted to head of international institutional business. In his place, Leen Meijaard, formerly head of Europe, is now head of EMEA institutional business.

Northern Trust Global Investments - Robert Browne, chief investment officer (CIO) for fixed income and proprietary investments at ING Investment Management, has been named as CIO at Northern Trust Global Investments in Chicago 
to replace Orie Dudley, who has retired.

California Public Employees' Retirement System - Anne Simpson, executive director of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), has left the company to join the US pension fund as a senior portfolio manager for corporate governance.

Cardano - CB Richard Ellis' Richard Urban and Pushkin Singh Akhawat, previously at Lehman Brothers, have joined the London-based investment management team, to respectively focus on researching and selecting property investments and research private equity and property opportunities.

KPMG - Marc Oliver Heine, Brigitte Huber and Susanne Jungblut from Watson Wyatt Heissmann, and Manfred Guggi, previously at Heissmann and Towers Perrin, all have joined the German, Munich-based pension practice.

Russell Investments - Andrew Doman, currently at McKinsey & Company Inc's UK-based European asset management practice, will be the new chief executive officer of Russell from 2 February. Doman succeeds John Schlifske, who was named president and CEO in June 2008. Schlifske will continue to serve as the company's president in the near term to ensure a smooth and orderly business transition before his return to Russell's parent company, Northwestern Mutual, as planned. Doman will also join Russell's board of directors.

ING - Michel Tilmant has announced he will step down as chief executive of ING Group. Jan Hommen, currently chairman of the supervisory board of ING Group, is to be appointed as the new CEO.

Ruffer - Guy Thornewil has joined the London-based investment manager as a research analyst concentrating on European equities from AllianceBernstein.

Hermes - Lynsey Register, previously at Kedge Capital, has joined the private equity business as an investment manager in London.

Pioneer Investments - BBVA Global Markets' Almudena Mendaza has been appointed senior sales manager for the Spanish market. Reinhard Müller, from GAM, has also named as the firm's country head for Switzerland.

Law Debenture Philip Gillett, chairman of the ICI pension scheme investment committee, David Kidd, previously with Arbuthnot Latham, and Eric Stobart, trustee on the Lloyds TSB Group pension schemes, have joined the London-based trustee services provider.
