GLOBAL - Janus Capital, Towers Watson, Threadneedle, Axa IM, Aberdeen AM, SAM, SWIP, Ignis AM, GEAM, Guardian Managers, RBC, StatPro

Janus Capital - Richard M. Weil has been appointed chief executive officer and as a member of the board of directors, effective 1 February 2010. He was previously chief operating officer at PIMCO and global head of PIMCO Advisory.

Towers Watson - The German operations will be run by Richard Batty, former regional leader of the Towers Perrin insurance consulting business in Europe and Asia/Pacific. Michael Kramarsch, former head of Rauser Towers in Germany, will take on responsibility for the workforce insights, data and technology division in the EMEA region.

Threadneedle - Changes have been made to the UK equities team following the  promotion of Leigh Harrison to head of equities. Simon Brazier is joining Threadneedle from Schroders as co-head of UK equities to look after UK equity non-income products. Richard Colwell is arriving from Aviva to work with Leigh Harrison on the income range, and James Thorne of Barings will join as UK smaller companies fund manager.

Axa IM - Jon Bailie has been named global head of distribution. He was previously at Russell Investments. Dan Harlow will also join on 22 February 2010 as portfolio manager at its UK equities team at Axa Framlington. He was previously director, head of fund management and fund manager for the UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust at Montanaro Asset Management.

Aberdeen AM - Peter Hames, head of Asian equities in Singapore, is leaving the company later this year to return to Europe with his family.

SAM  - Reto Kuhn, the ex Pension Fund Services' (PFS) chief executive who had been hired by the Swiss sustainable asset management company SAM in 2008, is leaving to become CIO of Swiss Vaudoise insurance company. A SAM spokesman said an "in-house solution" will be found for his succession.

SWIP - Mark Connolly has been appointed as director of fixed income, reporting to Dean Buckley. He was recently executive director for distribution and client services at Standard Life Investments.

Ignis Asset Management - Chris Fellingham is now chief investment officer for fixed income. He previously worked for George Soros' London based asset management business.

GE Asset Management (GEAM) - Chris Adey has been promoted to the newly-created role of global consultant relations leader. He was worked at the firm for three years.

Guardian Managers - Vincent Orlando has been appointed as director and CEO of the boutique asset management firm. He was previously senior portfolio manager for European funds at a private equity group, and prior to that was assistant portfolio manager at UBS AM.

RBC - Jim Pettigrew has been made non-executive director of Royal Bank of Canada Europe. He currently holds non-executive directorships at Hermes and the Edinburgh Investment Trust.

StatPro - Robert Campbell and Christopher Ruby have been named as new members of the firm's European business development and sales team. Both individuals previously worked at financial software firm FactSet.
