NETHERLANDS – Cees van Schie has retired as director of the 500 million-euro Dutch pension fund of publishing firm Wolters Kluwer.

He has been succeeded at Stichting Pensioenfonds Wolters Kluwer Nederland by Hans Derriks.

“I worked in different financial positions within Wolters Kluwer,” Derriks said. “The last position was operational auditor for Kluwer. Besides I was responsible for the introduction of IAS19 within Wolters Kluwer international.”

According to its website, the fund has set its indexation rate at 1.9% for 2004.

Last year the fund appointed manager of managers specialist Frank Russell to run three multi-manager equity funds, invested in multi-manager equity funds covering Japan, Pacific-Basin and Emerging Markets regions.

This month Kathy Baker took over as senior vice president of human resources from Tini Sanders. The company employs almost 20,000 people worldwide and had revenues of 3.9 billion euros in 2002.
