Northern Trust names fund services executive

EUROPE - Northern Trust has named Clearstream International’s Sue Baines as vice president of business development in its global fund services team in London.

Baines will be responsible for custody, fund administration and investment operations outsourcing business development, focussing on asset managers in the UK and continental Europe.

She was formerly deputy head of origination at Clearstream. Before that, she spent 12 years at Barclays. She will report to Penelope Biggs, head of corporate and institutional services in Europe.

Biggs said: “Her expertise and experience in generating and managing new business opportunities complements the existing sales team, and will enable us to maximise new business opportunities at a time when we are seeing growing demand for Northern Trust’s global asset administration capabilities.”
