EUROPE - FactSet Research Systems, the online provider of financial and economic information to the investment banking and investment management communities, has opened its first continental European office in Frankfurt, Germany.
FactSet, which opened its doors in London in 1993 has grown its European client
base by 50% in the last year to include over 150 investment managers and
banks.
The company, whose offering includes fundamental data on tens of thousands of
companies worldwide, combines more than 100 databases into its own
dedicated online service.
The company also provides the tools to download, combine and manipulate the data for investment analysis.
It already employs 4 people in Frankfurt and expects that
number to grow to 10 by the end of the year.
Headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, the firm is listed on the New York
Stock Exchange: "Our entry to the European market has been very successful so far. Now we have an important on-the-ground presence in Frankfurt, and we are
well-positioned to offer European clients a significantly enhanced suite of
products to meet their needs efficiently and effectively," comments Scott
Beyer, managing director of FactSet's European operation.
