GERMANY - Martin Theisinger, currently German head for Schroders Investment Management, will join Belgian manager Fortis Investments in September as its new head of client relationship management for Germany, Austria and CEE.

Theisinger, a specialist in institutional business, is resigning as Schroders' German head at the end of June.

He will be succeeded on July 1 by Achim Küssner, the current head of Germany for US asset manager BlackRock and regarded as a retail fund specialist.

Küssner has also persuaded Robert Schlichting, head of German institutional business at BlackRock, to join him at Schroders and take up the same job.

Speaking to IPE last March, Theisinger said he had decided to quit Schroders after a disagreement with its board over the firm's short-term goals for Germany. Theisinger said he advocates a more reserved growth strategy for Schroders in Germany.

Since opening an office in Frankfurt five years ago, Fortis has taken in €3bn in assets from German retail and institutional clients.
