ITALY – Centrum PensPlan has put out to tender a global equities mandate via IPE-Quest.

Centrum PensPlan, a pension fund support organisation based in Italy (Trentino Alto–Adige), is looking for a global equity manager who will be part of a multi-manager structure.

The structure has been in place for around two years. The initial value of the mandate is 10 million euros, with the potential to increase over time. A spokeswoman for Pensplan said the money would be coming from “fresh capital”.

An active manager which is not “afraid to deviate from the benchmark” is required, which also has the ability to think in absolute returns. The asset allocation should be the result of real investment choices and/or geographical preferences, says PensPlan.

Those wishing to apply should also have experience in shifting between geographical areas, markets and sectors.

Stock-picking is essential, and the manager will require experience in this area. The mandate also covers the requirement to have exposure in Asia Pacific and the emerging markets.

The closing date for applications is November 14.
