AlectaAnn Grevelius has been appointed as the acting head of equities at the Swedish pensions institution, having been brought in to replace the previous head of equity portfolio management, Liselott Ledin.

Ledin, who has worked at Alecta for 28 years, was fired as part of a series of rapid changes the firm’s chief executive officer, Magnus Billing, made this week. The steps were taken to repair customer confidence in the provider amid a scandal over huge losses on US bank holdings.

Grevelius is a member of Alecta’s board of directors but is stepping out of that role for the period in which she works as the firm’s equities chief.

In another change, Billing appointed Kerim Kaskal as acting chief investment officer, filling the role left temporarily vacant since January after Henrik Gade Jepsen was taken ill with COVID complications.
