NETHERLANDS - Pension heavyweight Peter Kraneveld, former head of international affairs at the €86bn Dutch PGGM fund, has taken up two new advisory positions, IPE has learnt.
From July, he will join State Street Global Advisors to advise them on European regulatory and pension trends, Kraneveld told IPE in an interview.
He added he has also taken up an advisory position at the American class action litigation firm Schiffrin Barroway Topaz & Kessler (SBTK).
For SBTK, Kraneveld will analyse and work on issues such as corporate governance, shareholder rights and activism, and how these fit into the interest of the firm's institutional client base.
In January he told IPE he is mostly interested in becoming a trustee or an administrator at a pension fund.
He is now in talks with several parties about becoming a trustee, but could not confirm anything at this stage.
"I would welcome other advisory positions as well," added Kraneveld.
Kraneveld, previously also chief economist at the Dutch scheme, resigned from his position in January after eight years with the fund to pursue his interests in pension system design and pension fund governance.
He previously worked on export credits and credit guarantees issues for the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) and for the Dutch economic affairs ministry as an Asia expert.
A spokeswoman at PGGM told IPE the fund would not replace Kraneveld with a new hire. "His work is being covered by two colleagues," she said.
