UK – PricewaterhouseCoopers says Richard Farr, most recently on secondment to the Pensions Regulator, has joined its pensions practice.

It said he is well-known in the pensions deficit solutions market and has joined the unit within its Human Resource Services arm.

PWC said Farr, a business recovery expert, has been advising the regulator and the Pension Protection Fund on pension funding shortfalls.

"We have been inundated with demand for our pension solution services as a result of our wide-ranging pension and commercial capabilities and our recent work with the government and regulators,” said Michael Rendell, leader of PWC’s human resources practice.

“Clients need more than technical pension solutions and, as a former CEO and Chairman of several companies, Richard is well versed in boardroom issues and brings a thorough understanding of the corporate agenda.

Elsewhere, Towers Perrin’s Tillinghast division has named Anton Davies and Matthew Lee as senior consultant and consultant respectively to its life and pensions business.
