IPE institutional market survey: Managers of Dutch institutional assets 2026

Managers of Dutch institutional assets 2026

Dutch institutional assets have increased for the third consecutive year and are edging towards the €2.5trn mark, while the assets managed on behalf of Dutch pension fund clients are just shy of €2trn, after increasing for the third year in a row.

Since 2019, Dutch institutional assets have increased by an average of 3.6% per year, while Dutch pension assets have increased by 4.45%. Thanks to some large mandate wins in recent years, Achmea has seen its Dutch institutional AUM swell by nearly 9% per year on average since 2019, while BlackRock’s institutional AUM has increased by almost 5.2% per year on average. The gap between the largest managers of Dutch institutional assets, leaving aside APG Asset Management, is close.

IPE covers a good variety of very current and relevant topics. It is good to read the high-level, independent and objective perspectives from pension funds in other European countries; many of them are dealing with the same issues as we are, so it is interesting to learn from their experiences, especially when they are ahead of where we are on the curve.
