The headline figure in this year’s IPE survey of asset managers of Irish institutional assets is up by about 0.4% compared with last year’s growth of 21% – but AUM is still higher than the 2022 peak.
The assets managed on behalf of Irish pension funds have slipped below the €100bn level, declining by a sizeable 13%, and significantly lower than the 2022 peak of €157bn. Keyridge Asset Management is and has been by far the largest manager of Irish institutional assets, with a 26% market share. Competition in the Irish pension fund sector is relatively closer. L&G Asset Management leads the pack, with a 39% market share, followed by Mercer (26%) and Insight Investments (19%).
