UK – Royal London Asset Management has named Barclays Global Investors’ client director Mark Willmott as its new institutional sales manager.

He takes over the sales role from Lorig Maranjian, who will now focus on client services. She previously handled both roles.

“Mark will be working to promote RLAM’s range of investment options in the defined benefit and defined contribution schemes,” RLAM said in a statement. Willmott was a client director at BGI for two years.

Willmott said: “I expect to begin by focusing on fixed interest.” He added the institutional marketplace is facing many challenges at the moment.

He will report to RLAM’s head of sales, Stan Bland. RLAM is the asset management arm of the Royal London Group; it manages 3.1 billion dollars in European pension fund assets.
