SWITZERLAND - Matthias Pfiffner, international benefits manager at Roche, has left the pharmaceutical giant to join the pensions team at Aon Consulting Switzerland.

Pfiffner has joined Aon today as senior actuary, having spent several years working  in international benefits, within Roche's pensions and benefits team and prior to that at Swiss Life in its pooled funds business.

Rolf Jufer, chief executive of Aon Switzerland, noted Switzerland is now a hot spot for multi-national companies, so Pfiffner's arrival would provide the international team with additional strength and expertise in that growing arena.

"It's my pleasure to welcome Matthias to the Aon Consulting team," said Jufer.

"I believe that his international knowledge, his analytical skills, as well as his ability to provide solid results will be an important asset, as we continue to strengthen our presence in Switzerland".

Pfiffner will in the first instance be focused on the Swiss pensions market and work on projects for both national and international projects but his move, in part, also allows him to learn about the Swiss pension fund business so he may study for an actuarial qualification specialising in pensions.
