UK - The Shetland Islands Council has named Schroders as the manager awarded a £20m (€29.6m) UK property mandate.

The council opted for indirect property investment via a fund of funds solution, a spokesman said.

IPE reported in March the Shetland Islands local authority had signed a contract with a property manager but no names could be disclosed because the fund had not informed the bidders of its decision.

Elsewhere, the £2.5bn Hampshire Pension Fund confirmed it will be looking at its first investments into hedge funds later this year.

The current amount allocated to this asset class is £80m.

Some of the £270m targeted for alternative investments have already been placed in private equity and infrastructure funds, a spokeswoman said.
