SEI hosts UK trustee summer seminars
UK – Manager of managers firm, SEI Investments, will host a series of seminars around Britain addressing investment issues for pension funds in June and July. The seminars are aimed at trustees and investment committee members of pension funds.
“ The purpose of these seminars is to assist all those involved in pension fund management in making crucial investment decisions. At these sessions, which are PMI Pensions Management_Institute accredited, we intend to address some of the issues raised by the Myners Report including the relevance of the manager of managers process,” says Kate Finch, director of UK institutional sales.
“ We are aware of the limited resources dedicated to investment training. The Myners Report commissioned in March 2001 by HM Treasury showed that 69% of trustees receive 2 or less days training for their role as a trustee. This commitment is often in addition to their regular job, which may be in an unrelated industry which makes training all the more important,” Finch adds.
The seminars are scheduled to take place from 12.15-13.15 at the following venues: June 27, July 12 and 17 at SEI’s offices in London; July 3 at the Malmaison Hotel in Newcastle; July 4 at the Malmaison Hotel in Glasgow; July 10 at Hôtel du Vin in Bristol; and July 11 at The Lace Market hotel in Nottingham.
The company also offers group sessions for those who are unable to attend the above meetings.
