GERMANY - Asset manager SEI has named Nadine Fugert as sales director for Germany, to be based in Munich.

SEI said Fugert would focus on SEI's relationship with Commerzbank, under which SEI provides manager-of managers services.

"In addition, Nadine will also be responsible for researching further business opportunities for SEI in the region," Pennsylvania-based SEI said.

Fugert previously worked for J P Morgan in Munich and she was a partner in institutional services firm People Invest.

"The decision to appoint Nadine and establish a presence on the ground in Germany marks the continuation of SEI's strategy to expand our business in continental Europe," said Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI Institutional.

"Nadine's previous experience in local start-up situations will prove invaluable as we initiate our presence in the local German market and seek to grow our localized competencies and resource base."

SEI has almost 254 billion dollars in assets under management. Last month it said it won a 32 million-pound (46.8 million-euro) global equity mandate from Yorkshire Copper Tube.
