EUROPE - Standard Life Investments has named Pat Woods as investment director for Benelux while Jennifer Richards takes over from him in the same role in Ireland.

Woods will be responsible for business development “in a market central to Standard Life Investments' European strategy”. He will be based in Edinburgh.

"The Dutch and Belgian markets present significant opportunities to a global investment house such as Standard Life Investments, particularly with our strengths in fixed income, property and private equity,” said Neil McPherson, head of European business development.

“Pat's experience and track record will provide us with significant impetus in this key market."

Richards will take over from Woods on January 19 and head client servicing and business development. She was previously senior portfolio manager at Allied Irish Bank Investment Managers. Before that she was an investment consultant Mercer in Ireland.

Standard Life Investments, which recently saw its chief executive Sandy Crombie take over as head of the asset manager’s parent company, has 123.9 billion euros under management.
