GERMANY - Swiss consultant PPCmetrics has entered the German market in a joint venture with Georg Seil Consulting.

Wiesbaden-based Georg Seil Consulting GSC has now transferred its consulting business to GSC-PPCmetrics Investment Consulting, which was formed in October 2003. The remaining business of GSC will focus on advising on capital market issues such as overlay management.

GSC-PPCmetrics aims to offer asset liability studies, asset analysis, beauty contests and control. It is 51%-owned by Seil, with Zurich-based PPCmetrics taking 49%. PPCmetrics said its aim was to "get immediate access to the German market".

"Without the special knowledge of a local consultant like GSC the entry into the German market would be much more expensive and time-consuming," it said in a release.

The new venture has nine staff and can draw on the resources of PPCmetrics' 31 staff. Its board consists of Seil, Ulrich Kamm and PPCmetrics partner Dominique Ammann.
