IPE - Former T Rowe Price board member Todd Ruppert has joined the board of IPE International Publishers as a non-executive director.

Ruppert worked at T Rowe Price for 27 years and, until the end of June, was president of Global Investment Services, a board member of T Rowe Price International and a member of the group operating steering committee.

During this period, he was responsible for starting and spearheading the growth of T Rowe Price’s institutional and intermediary business outside the US, as well as running the institutional business in the US.

Commenting on the appointment, IPE publisher Piers Diacre praised the new non-executive director, saying the company was “privileged” to have him join.

“Todd is an extraordinary individual and among the finest institutional marketers and business leaders I have met since starting IPE,” he said.

“In our early days, he taught us a great deal about our market and how to handle ourselves with our clients to our best advantage, and helped us develop many of the ideas that have made us successful.”

Ruppert, who has previously been a board member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association, Altius Associates, Daiwa SB investments and UTI International, said he would look to expand the publisher’s activities significantly.

“I have known the team at IPE for 15 years and now look forward to being much more closely involved in the affairs of this company that I have grown to admire,” he said.

Ruppert is currently US president of the board of the Royal Parks Foundation of London and a founding board member of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in the US.

He sits on the board of INSEAD Business School and on the London-based Halcyon Gallery.

He also is the executive producer of the documentary film ‘A Year In Burgundy’. A film on Champagne is due out next year.
