UK/EUROPE – Threadneedle Investments has announced that Sarah Arkle will take on the role of chief investment officer (CIO) at the firm on completion of the sale of Zurich Scudder Investments to Deutsche Bank.

Arkle, who has been head of equities and managed funds at the firm since 1999, takes over the CIO role from Simon Davies who was combining the roles of CIO and chief executive.

She comments: “The growth in Threadneedle’s business has been phenomenal – first in the UK retail arena, then in Europe and now institutional.
“The current market environment is particularly challenging but I am looking forward to my new role enormously.”
