NETHERLANDS – UBS’s Daniel van Akkeren is to join Kempen Capital Management in the Netherlands as a senior portfolio manager of European real estate securities.

Van Akkeren succeeds Robert Oosterkamp, who has swapped Kempen for a new job at US bank AEW in London.

Thirty-two-year-old Van Akkeren has done stints as (senior) portfolio manager/analyst real estate securities at ING Investment Management in The Hague and LaSalle Investment Management in Amsterdam. He is currently working for UBS in Zurich.

In a statement, KCM said Van Akkeren would be responsible for various funds and institutional portfolios investing in European real estate securities.

Commenting on the appointment, KCM's director of sales and marketing Peter Hans Budde said: "We are glad to have an experienced portfolio manager like Daniel to complement our team.

“Our product, client and asset base have grown consistently over the last couple of years and assets have now reached 1.2 billion euros in European real estate securities for a large variety of predominantly European clients."
