Futures contracts based on the Dow Jones Stoxx 50 and the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 indices are now open to US investors. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission had approved contracts based on both indices, Dow Jones says.
US individual and institutional investors would now be able to trade these contracts directly from the US through European exchanges Eurex and Monep, the company said.
Futures contracts based on the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50 are the third largest exchange-traded derivatives market in Europe, with open interest of e20.6bn in mid-May.
