NETHERLANDS - Martin van't Zet is to leave his post as head of European and fiscal affairs at the VB, the Dutch industry-wide pension association, to join Optas Management.

The Dutch Association of Industry-wide Pension Funds, the Vereniging van Bedrijfstakpensioenfondsen, said in a statement that van't Zet would join Optas as head of legal and fiscal affairs on March 1.

“In his new job Martin will deal with the legal and fiscal design of all Optas products. He also will signal relevant external policy developments and participate in product development,” said VB chairman Peter Borgdorff.

He added that he would be replaced and that the VB, which has 12 employees, would be advertising the vacancy.

Van't Zet worked at the VB for almost five years as secretary of its European and fiscal affairs committees. He also dealt with the participation of pensioners in pension schemes.

“We have congratulated Martin with his new job, which is a new challenging step in his career,” Borgdorff added.

Rotterdam-based life insurer Optas has 60,000 customers and 3.7 billion euros in assets.
