Watson Wyatt hires Citigroup’s Armstrong

UK – Watson Wyatt LLP has hired Citigroup Asset Management’s European marketing director Jane Armstrong as head of marketing for its investment practice, a new role.

Armstrong, who took up her job on March 1, leads a seven- strong team in charge of public relations, new business development and communications.

“It is a very competitive industry right now, it is a very exciting time and there’s a lot of activity in the market,” Armstrong said. She was director and head of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Citigroup AM.

Citigroup said Annette McArthur Muscroft is now acting as head of marketing.

“Jane’s 20 years of marketing experience for financial services firms will be of tremendous value for us at a time of increasing change and competition in the industry,” said Nick Watts, Watson’s European head of investment consulting.

Armstrong has also worked for Old Mutual, Fidelity Investments and the National Mutual Life Assurance Society.

Watson Wyatt last week appointed Jens Witt of Aon’s German consulting subsidiary to the new position of managing consultant for its Munich office as it expands in Germany.

UK-based partnership Watson Wyatt LLP is allied through cross-shareholdings with US stock market-listed Watson Wyatt & Co. Together they run Watson Wyatt Worldwide.
